Ffestiniog Railway Bug Box 3rd Class (PW05)

The very first passenger coaches used on the Ffestiniog Railway. Built by Brown Marshall and delivered in 1864, they were known as ‘Small Birmingham’s’ latterly acquiring the nickname Bug Boxes, a title that has stayed with them. These iconic coaches have an exceptionally low centre of gravity, so designed to alleviate fears of instability on the narrow-gauge track. This kit comprises cast resin sides and ends, cast chassis block, floor and bench unit. A preformed plastic roof, glazing, etched door handles, bearings and 10.5mm wheels.
